The burning of coal to produce electricity accounts for over 50% of residential demand. In addition to the atmospheric pollution that the burning of coal releases, the process of mining for it isn't a very pretty picture either with issues of water contamination and deforestation.
We live in the 21st century and electricity is an enormous part of our lives. Reducing our consumption is not in the cards. Taking it one step further we can let the argument slide that perhaps blaming our consumption of fossil fuels for global warming might be a bit overblown. The rising temperatures and melting polar ice caps could possiby be just part of our planetary cycle.
Be that as it may, the next time you are outside feeling the warmth and energy of the sun on your body take a moment to reflect. Why not take advantage of this abundant constant energy source to produce most of our electricity needs.
To me it's a no brainer. I realize cost is a barrier but if you have money to invest in the markets, I can make a financial argument that investing in your own solar power can be a safe and rewarding return on your investment. Your house and lifestyle need to be accounted for but if you are thinking of going solar give us a shout and we'll help you take your first steps and fill you in on the current federal, state, and local incentives.
For a limited time in the Tri-State area you can take advantage of a free solar site analysis. We can measure, and calculate the potential energy that your home or business can generate seasonally from the sun taking into consideration shading and structural considerations. From there we can calculate system costs and provide a run-down of federal, state, and local incentives that are available.
